TacklePrivacy Policy
A short, complete account of what Tackle Lab Camp (“TackleLab”, “the app”) does — and does not do — with your information.
1. No account, no tracking
TackleLab has no sign-in, no user database, and no server of its own. There are no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking libraries, and the app never attaches a device or user identifier to anything. The developer collects no personal data about you.
2. Where your records live
Rigs, sessions, experiments, photos, coach talks, and preferences are written to the app's private sandbox on your device. Rigs, logbook, and experiments are one local file; rig photos are image files in the same private folder. The developer has no way to see any of it.
3. The AI coach — the one thing that goes online
The coach is an optional AI feature with two parts, and each shows its own notice on first use. Nothing is sent until you agree, and every other part of the app works without ever opening the coach.
- Rig review sends one request containing only the six slot texts of that rig (rod, reel, line, leader, hook, lure), its target species, and its session totals (sessions, hours, bites, hookups, landed).
- Talk sends the lines you type in that talk — the most recent ones travel together so the coach can follow the thread — and, only if you pin a rig to the talk, that rig's slots, species, and totals.
Your name, home water, notes, photos, unpinned rigs, and logbook entries themselves are never included.
4. How OpenAI handles a request
Coach requests are processed by OpenAI, whose language model writes the reply. The text travels to OpenAI's servers and is handled under OpenAI's Privacy Policy. Requests are not linked to any account or identifier from the app.
A rig review is shown on screen and not kept by the app. Talks are kept on your device only, in the app's private folder, so you can reread them; delete a talk and its lines are gone.
5. Camera and photo library
When you attach a picture to a rig, iOS asks for camera or photo-library access at that moment. The permission is used only to save a copy of the chosen photo into the app's private folder. TackleLab does not scan or upload your library, never touches photos you did not pick, and never sends a photo to the coach.
6. Exports
“Export logbook as CSV” creates a file and hands it to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes next is your choice; the app keeps no copy of the export.
7. Removing your data
“Reset all data” in the Profile tab erases every record, photo, and talk the app stored, and forgets your answers to both coach notices. Deleting the app removes the same private container. The developer holds nothing on a server, so there is nothing else to request or delete from us.
8. Children
TackleLab is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. The developer knowingly collects nothing from anyone, minors included.
9. This website
This site uses no cookies, analytics, or trackers. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address as part of a normal web request. The contact form on the home page does not transmit or store what you type — to reach us, please email us directly.
10. Changes to this policy
If the app's handling of information changes, this page will be updated and the effective date above revised. Significant changes will also be reflected in the in-app Privacy Policy.
